Elsa Peretti's Collaboration with Giorgio di Sant'Angelo, 1970
Unearthing Elsa Peretti's first designs.
Elsa Peretti’s collaboration with Halston is well known and often referenced—think Tom Ford for Gucci F/W 1996. But far less is known about her very first collaboration with fashion designer Giorgio di Sant’Angelo. I first learned about it in conversation with Chris Royer and, after some deep digging in the Vogue archives, I uncovered these gems!
Her standout piece from this period was the heart belt, but we also see her experimenting with early prototypes of what would later become her famous flower vase. She even designed hair accessories, including a silver sword.
As someone who absolutely adores Elsa Peretti’s work, discovering these early designs was a true delight.
